A MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ORANGE FARM

Police in Orange Farms have arrested a murder suspect following the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old boy at Lakeside Extension 5, south of Johannesburg.
It is alleged that the deceased and the suspect had a previous conflict.
Police say the two became involved in a verbal altercation linked to their earlier dispute before the suspect allegedly went home and returned with a knife, commonly known as an “Oukapie”.
A fight reportedly broke out during which the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Shaun Motsapi from Orange Farms SAPS says the 19-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
“With assistance from community members, the suspect was apprehended and handed over to police. Police subsequently arrested the suspect and launched an investigation. During the investigation, officers traced and recovered the alleged murder weapon at the suspect’s hiding place,” said Motsapi.
The suspect is currently being detained at Orange Farms Police Station and is expected to appear soon in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.
