Two Drug Addicts Caught Pushing Stolen Casket In Wheelbarrow At Midnight, See How It Ended
Residents of a quiet neighborhood were left in shock after spotting two drug addicts pushing a used stolen casket in a wheelbarrow in the middle of the night. The bizarre incident, which unfolded in the early hours of Thursday morning, has sparked widespread curiosity and concern.
Eyewitnesses say the duo, known for their involvement in petty crimes and drug abuse, was seen struggling with the heavy casket along a deserted street. Initially, some thought it was a prank, but as word spread, residents alerted the local police, who quickly arrived at the scene.
According to authorities, the casket had been stolen from a nearby funeral home, though it remains unclear why the suspects took it or what they intended to do with it. Upon questioning, the two men, believed to be under the influence of drugs, gave conflicting explanations, with one claiming they found it abandoned and the other suggesting they planned to sell it for scrap.
Police spokesperson Captain Malesela Mokoena confirmed the arrests, stating, “We are investigating how they managed to remove the casket from the funeral home and whether they had inside help. This is an unusual case, and we are determining if any laws related to desecration or theft apply.”
The stolen casket was later returned to the funeral home, whose staff expressed disbelief over the incident. We never thought we would have to deal with something like this, said the funeral home’s manager. “It’s both disturbing and frustrating.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of theft and possession of stolen property. Meanwhile, authorities are urging business owners, especially those in the funeral industry, to improve security to prevent such incidents.
