Police seize drugs, cash at Durban school

Drugs and large sums of cash have been seized during a police raid at a school south of Durban. Some 60 officers conducted a search and seizure operation at Fairvale Secondary School on Friday morning.

KZN Department of Education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi said law enforcement teams moved in following reports of violence and drug-related activities at the school.

"They confiscated a lot of drugs, a lot of scissors and money from pupils.

"The MEC has warned other schools who are still engaging themselves in these kinds of activities, that the department has a partnership with Community Safety department, and they'll be doing this session seizure unannounced from time to time."
